  1. I can’t wait to see this show. We saw a preview at Full Circle Brewery and she was hilarious.

The Italian Rose of Texas lives her dream and serves up a platter full of memorable NYC steakhouse characters with plenty of sauce. They dance, they sing, they laugh, they cry . . . and you should join in with them and be part of the dream. ~ Bound to be another Rogue hit.

Wonderful! During some of the musical numbers her humorous lyrics were difficult to hear over the background music. You’ll want to hear every word so sit close.

  5. Thomassai says:

Carolann and her performance are imaginative, funny and engaging. She grabs the audience strongly right from the start and never loses them. She obviously has established chops. Pretty polished but still down to earth and genuine. Her personal story during her thanks is touching and inspirational. Especially to fellow artists.

  6. J Macdonald says:

Wonderful performance! Carolann takes customer service to a whole new level!

  7. Ok. I saw the whole show now. HOLY CRAP!!! She is a riot. I keep saying she almost has the Jim Carrey face; her intensity, her goofiness, and the way she becomes several different characters at breakneck speed while keeping them all discernible. And yeah… touching inspirational… that stuff too.

It’s like she’s playing every part of a circus up there. You don’t even bother with a gym membership do you? The calories you must be burning!

They should bump Jay Leno to like 10:00pm or something and give you the 11:30 time slot.

  8. Charlie says:

Carolanne is amazing! She sings, acts, and is one funny lady. You gotta see this show.

Really good show. Carolanne has a great talent for capturing characters and especially for voices! She’s a funny lady, and this show has lots of energy and laughs.

Had such a great time at the Saturday evening show. I made sure to post a review up at EoF. http://eatingoutfresno.blogspot.com/2010/03/eating-out-on-stage.html

  11. Barbara U says:

I agree with all the others. Plus — she has a beautiful voice when she sings lyrical songs. A must-see! (and must-hear)

  12. AdAbsurdum says:

I have to admit after seeing the show the first time I didn’t skip or jump up and down. I even wondered, “why the hype?”. Then I saw it again and felt completely differently. This woman is talented folks. She sings, she acts, she has balls. Yep. Big ol’ Texas-sixed balls and on top of those balls is a woman with genuine talent who conveys themes of struggling and following your dreams in ways so funny you may pee or cry. The entire show is great, but the bit about a woman eating a porterhouse steak and its accompanying song is hysterical!

  13. Jessi says:

She has a lot of charisma and a fantastic stage presence. I had trouble hearing clearly and lost track of the story when I saw the debut performance, but I’ve been told by several people I respect that I’m crazy for not loving this show. I think I may try to see it again.

Definitely one of the hot tickets for Rogue. The woman can do everything. She’s juggling multiple personalities, songs and dance all the while guiding the arc of the narrative so easily you kind of forget it’s just one person on stage. Besides the raw talent and charisma, the thing that struck me most was how distinct each character was incarnated on stage, the woman has a amazing knack for voices. Go see it while ya still have a chance.

  16. Marc says:

Excellent show! Great talent and lots of fun. Go see it.

  17. Amazing… the characters are TOTALLY believable, (several of them reminded me of aunts from Jersey) she has a great voice for the songs, and having been a restaurant manager, her stories are hilarious and at the same time, totally real and almost expected for the scenarios which they are meant to portray… for any literary fans, she is James Joyce put to music, full of laughter, tears and hope; don’t miss this show!

  18. Ok… I came to your show again… Still awesome! Brought my girlfriend this time. You had her dying laughing. This show is absolutely hysterical.

And here is the best compliment I can offer. I have a hard time watching other people’s shows. I’d rather be performing. At other people’s shows I’m usually antsy, waiting for it to be over, and distracted with thinking about how I would have performed or written something.

I just sat through two of your shows and didn’t check the time once. Trust me. Big compliment.

  19. Carolann is an amazingly talented lady. Her show Burnt at the Steak is a must see for this years Rogue Festival. She had me dying laughing from the get go- or shall I say the giddy up! She is the love child of Carol Burnett and Jim Carey, she can switch characters, assume personalities mannerisms and all, and even make them sing their own theme song. She deserves all the praise and attention she has been getting, and more because she is just that extraordinary. If you miss this show you will miss out on the best Rogue has to offer- go see her!
    Lots of love and admiration,

She is amazing! I’m definitely a fan. She has energy, great comedic story telling and really, the best show I’ve seen this year at the Rogue show, I hope she’ll be back next year. I have no doubt in my mind that some day she will be seen on television, part of the saturday night live or her own comedy stand up show. she really has pure talent and charisma. I’ve never seen anyone so full of energy and so entertaining! And I have seen Lewis Black live. So yes, that is saying a LOT.

  21. Stephen says:

Kim hit the nail on the head – CarolAnn is the mixture of Carol Burnett and Jim Carrey.

The show isn’t the very best I’ve ever seen, but it’s fun and CarolAnn is infectious. I loved the Jersey girl thing the most, how she transformed herself with just a quickly thrown-on banana clip – timely and fun.

There’s the added show today at 7pm, so if you haven’t seen her, take the chance. It’s just a lot of fun from a charismatic performer.

Again, tho, not the best the Rogue has to offer, but certainly top ten.
