The man’s just so damn compelling and charismatic on stage. The story is fun, something you’d love to listen to over a beer (tho it’s better in a collective crowd atmosphere because Nuge delights in bantering with the crowd).
Being about his age and having dealt with many of his same issues, this show was particularly touching to me, and left me with a bit of enlightenment and ennui, along with many hearty belly laughs. I spoke with my two 24 year old friends after and they didn’t enjoy it as much, but if you’re nearing middle age, this show is definitely for you.
No light changes, no sound cues, just one man, one stage. And for this show, that’s all we need.
Saw the show yesterday and loved it. Tommy is very talented and well rehearsed. Had some great belly laughs.

Definitely “good enough”, even if you only saw the opening bit involving a number of double-edged razor blades.
A compelling story, well told, without flashiness.
A wonderful, funny, heartwarming show. NUGEnt is poignant, fast paced and hilarious. I left feeling better about myself and mankind. Don’t miss it!!
I am not middle aged yet, but did grow up in a very Christian household, attend a Christian college, and immersed myself in a few years of working for a church. I’ve not dropped kicked my faith yet, but even with the possibility that my outlook and Nuge’s would have points of diversion, this show is excellent. In fact, even if your philosophical leanings are 180 degrees off of those presented in this show, the pure entertainment factor makes this well worth the time and money (and let’s face it, he definitely brings up some points to ponder regarding life, religion and inspiration). You will constantly laugh, groan, laugh again and simply be delighted with the content and the way that Mr. Nugent presents himself. This show is an absolute must see this year.
He brings a friendly and relaxed, “guy next door” kind of vibe to his story through his easy mannerisms, smiling eyes, and the way he interacts with the audience without becoming distracted or distracting. It’s not a mind-boggling show, and that ends up being a strength. The time goes quickly as he brings a casual sense of purpose to his story. Quite enjoyable.
