How do I explain mammary glands to my children?!!
Concerned Mother, darling, why are you bringing such a subject to the attention of your young ones? We would consider that sort of thing highly inappropriate.
We do hope, however, that you will take your children to see one of the fine family oriented shows that are part of the Rogue Festival.
We also recommend that you avoid exposing tender young minds to the debauchery that is Uncle Bucky’s Trailer Style… and get a babysitter before attending Cap’n Scurvy’s Apocalypse Hoedown Revival. He can help you for $1.99 (plus price of admission), but it’s not necessarily for the little ones.
Dear Concerned Mother, I must agree with Joie de Vivre. One wonders, if you had any idea, what a burlesque show is all about? While I’ve never been to a burlesque show (plan to remedy that with this show), I still know enough not to bring my kids.
Concerned Mother,
Do you commonly take children to burlesque shows in a bar in China Town?
Dear concerned mother,
I understand your concern; however, nobody should take their child to a burlesque show to begin with just like they would not take their children to a rated R movie. Children should not be out that late at night anyway. Think about priorities here and reality. Simply do the research and take the kids to the appropriate shows and stop nit picking.
After our own show we went down to see what the Valley Burlesque Society was about. We were pleasantly surprised and entertained by the dancers (and the juggler). This was definitely not an X rated show by any means although several of the dancers disrobed down to a the equivalent of a bikini bottom and pasties. The dancers ranged in age and it was fantastic to see women so comfortable in and with their bodies. They looked like they were having fun and the audience responded with enthusiasm. Great job ladies.
You can tell them that mammary glands are used to feed infants milk.
You kids must be over 21 to get in, so bring them down for a good time!
That was an awesome show ladies! You should all be very proud of yourselves!
