I’m looking forward to another set of great Rogue performances by Pipe on the Hob; I’m sure they won’t disappoint!

  2. Brad says:

Great Celtic music, and more great Celtic music.
You’ll really feel it in the the close intimate space of the Spectrum Gallery.

  3. I would like to thank all the people who came to our first show. You were a wonderful and supportive audience. It is so fun to play in a packed venue especially when people are as responsive as you were. Thanks for coming

Last night’s show focused on Scottish tunes, and it featured tragic, but beautiful, ballads and fun, make you want to get out of your seat and dance jigs. There were a bunch of new songs as well as old favorites. Brad is right, Spectrum is a great venue for this show. The next show will feature Irish pub songs, so it should be a rollicking good time!

  5. Josh K says:

Absolutely loved the performance at the Spectrum. The music was wonderful and I left with a smile on my face.

Pipe on the Hob is always a delight. Some might want them to talk less and play more, but even discourses on the meaning and method of folk music have a lilt and a joy that will make you smile. If you’ve never seen them perform, you should. If you’ve seen them before, don’t you need another shot of their musical methanol (high-test gasoline with a home-grown component)?

  7. Susan says:

As always, this group makes my toes tap and my face smile. Great performanc.

  8. Patrick Gerrits says:

A delightful show from some excellent and multi-talented musicians! It was fun to see them switching from keys bodhran, harp to keys, and dulcimer to penny whistle so smoothly and effortlessly. They all have day jobs, but it’s easy to see on their faces where their passion lies. They cleary enjoy performing. Go see them. You’ll have a good time!

  9. Purrkittie says:

My husband and I really enjoyed the show–from sad, lonely ballads to Irish pub songs and even a jig, the group was energetic and fun and a pleasure to watch. I have been to Ireland and many pubs in various cities there, and this show reminded me of being back on the Emerald Isle, especially when the group asked the audience to participate in a traditional sing-along with one of the pub songs.

The musicians all seem to be seasoned veterans at their respective instruments and singing), and I was surprised and pleased at how easily many of them switched instruments while still playing masterfully.

All in all, a very fun, interesting show. I appreciated the interactive experience as well as the showmanship of the group. I would love to see more of Pipe on the Hob at live shows in Fresno!
