Following up on last year’s Rogue sensation, A.R.T. returns with three all-new comedies from “All in the Timing.” These hilarious short one-acts are sometimes madcap, and often thought provoking. A woman yearns to be understood in “Universal Language.” Three construction workers marvel at their fantastic parentage in “Mere Mortals.” A couple goes through the absolute worst things you could say on a first date in “Sure Thing.” S. Eric Day, Michael Peterson, and Jeff White direct the individual one-acts.

Saw the performances last night. No opening night jitters. The performances were brilliant! I took my 12 year old son. We laughed and had a great time! Some of the material was a little over his head but we enjoyed the show nonetheless. Thanks to Eric Day for his recommendation for this great show!

This was a light and entertaining show, that kept the audience laughing from the beginning to the end. I really enjoyed “The Universal Language” performed by Jaguar Bennet and Kate McKnight. Being able to create a character in English is hard enough, doing it in an unfamiliar “language” is an even greater challenge, and the two actors pulled off this paticular one act without a flaw. “Mere Mortals” and “Sure Thing” were also very enjoyable, and each one act had a little something different to offer to the audience.

My wife saw this show and said it was terrific. I’m hoping to see it soon!
( I loved the ‘teaser’ done at Full Circle Brewery by Kate and Jaguar)

Wow! these performers are pros. I was blown away at the level of acting and directing displayed in all three of these one acts. Last year was phenomenal, this year was even better! Keep it comin’ A.R.T. Thanks for the laughs.

There is no need for superlatives in reviewing “It’s All In The Timing Too.” It can simply be said that is as good as theater gets anywhere, period. If you only see one Rogue show, make it this one.

All in the Timing was one of my favorites last year, and this year’s rendition is just as good, if not a little better. It’s tough to pick a favorite of this year’s three one-acts. The first one, “Mere Mortals,” was great in how it starts so “normal” and then quickly becomes completely bizarre. I loved how so much of the dialogue in “Universal Language” was nonsense in the words themselves, but the characters so perfectly conveyed the intentions of the words. And “Sure Thing” wove together a dialogue between two people meeting for the first time, rewinding after their various remarks to show how the differences in the content and timing of the remarks changed the direction of the conversation. In all three of the one-acts, the strangeness of the situations never gets in the way of the snappy pace or the performers’ taking on of characters. There’s not a dull moment in All in the Timing, and all the performers were great. Again, All in the Timing is one of my Rogue favorites.

First off, I have to give a ton of kudos and thanks to the Severance space as a BYOV. Many BYOV’s don’t act like actual Rogue venues, and they’ll casually mention the Rogue or being part of the Rogue to pull from the popularity of the Rogue.
Severance acts exactly as if they were another Rogue Venue, as if they were completely a part of the Rogue, and they’ve really got their act together as far as loading and unloading audiences, sets, lights, sound, etc. It’s a terrific venue and they’ve been fantastic.
Now to All in The Timing II. Everything good everyone said above is correct. There are 3 acts here, and while the first is static with no blocking or movement, it’s still riveting thanks to the terrific performances/characters of M. Justin Redd, Mike Peterson, and especially Randy Stump in a Jackie Gleason-type turn.
The second sketch was a little too long for my taste (like a good SNL sketch gone too long), but it, too, is well acted, and the tough dialogue is made very understandable and both actors hold well for the jokes and deliver the obvious punchlines with style and aplomb.
The third bit is my favorite, the prospect of a potential love match in action. I think the actress’ name is LIsi, and M. Justin Redd returns for near perfection of a comedy sketch….well rehearsed and directed and acted.
This is a VERY fun show….and there were somehow a few empty seats tonight! That shouldn’t be allowed to happen for this great ART production! Must See.
