Saturday night concert of Benjamin Boone Jazz Quartet with Steve Mitchell:
WOW! these guys are hot, and apparently haven’t played together before Friday. They are so professional, and really feeling the music, you would never know it. The delightful Karen Marguth got up and sang a number accompanied by her wonderful keyboardist Jason Wanner.
In keeping with a nonstructured theme, children during this concert at the Severance were crawling through and in front of the audience; trying their best to distract them while being cute about it. I just shut my eyes, but do we really need this? It’s never too early to teach good audience manners.
This concert had a very high level of musicianship and professionalism, one of the highest I’ve seen at four years of Rogueing.
