WINNER! CRITIC’S CHOICE AWARD, 2007 VANCOUVER FRINGE FESTIVAL! From Barry Smith, creator of last year’s award-winning Rogue Festival hit, JESUS IN MONTANA, comes this true, multi-media comedy. Follow Barry on his journey from squeaky clean suburbanite to filthy squatter in late-1980s London, with stop offs at punk rock, a clean-freak father, Tony Hawk and a community college ceramics course.
“A scintillating sense of humour…” - Montreal Gazette.
“FIVE STARS! What sets this production apart is not only Smith’s sharp wit, but his ability to channel laughter’s deeper cathartic powers. See this one.” - Montreal Hour
“Riotous, bust-your-gut laughter.” - The Aspen Times

If you did NOT see Barry’s Show “Jesus in Montana” last year, you’ll really LOVE “American Squatter.”
Barry Smith is professional, talented, and performs his written word flawlessly in conjunction with his meticulously crafted power-point/video presentations.
If you DID see “Jesus in Montana” last year, you might be a bit disappointed with this follow-up, feeling (as I did) that you’d sorta seen it/been there before.
He’s still funny and talented, and the story is kinda fun, but having seen what he did last year, this just feels like ‘part I’ of last year’s show, and last year’s show didn’t really need a ‘part I’ to impress.
If you DIDN’T see “Jesus in Montana” last year, do NOT miss this show!
If you DID….well, go anyway, and post your review here! I’m very curious to see if anyone agrees with me!
