For the 2007 Rogue Festival are pleased to host a wonderful art exhibition by renowned artist Marcos Dorado. This exhibition will feature the stunning portraits of local Fresnans and is the first installment in a series of 5 shows that will culminate in 2008 with a grand show entitled “100 Faces of Fresno”.

Labor organizer and civil rights leader Emma Tenayuca helped Mexicans achieve a sense of unparalleled confidence and group pride as racial minorities in the 1930’s. Her legacy is that she challenged an important enterprise, the power structure of San Antonio city government, called for equal pay for equal work during a difficult time of wage differentials—the Depression era, and she articulated the integral issue of Mexican-American identity.

Eventually all (including Jane’s psychiatrist, who undergoes a sex change operation and swaps places with his wife) change characters again and become Jane herself—leaving her with no identity at all and pointing up the near impossibility of self-identification in our uncertain times.
