What a lousy show name. What a terrible show description. What inane marketing.

And what a FANTASTIC show.

This guy's show had me from point A to Z. The Starline Venue manager told me it was good, and I was reluctant to stay, but I did, and I'm so glad I did.

Lots of laughs, loads of poignant moments.

This character is Nicholas Cage from 'The Weatherman,' beaten down and trying to live up to something he's not, and so he decides after losing his library (a fate notsogood for the grandson of the Dewey Decimal inventor) to end himself.

Or not.

Or maybe.

This is really well-written and VERY well performed...I loved the little character traits (but wouldn't he have carefully folded up the rope? No...by then his tie is undone and he doesn't care...or does he?)

Intrigued yet?

GOOD.

Someone teach this guy how to sell his show...which shouldn't be hard now that people have seen it.

It's a hit. Go see it.

This is the show I didn't expect to see... witty and intellectually hilarious, Arthur Huey is by far the breath of fresh air for the Rogue 2007.

If you haven't seen it, you must do so!

At turns, a hilarious and thoughtful dark comedy.

"The Irresistible Rise Of Arthur Huey" is by far one of the greatest pieces of theatrical entertainment to hit the stage this year. I had the opportunity to see this show performed in Las Vegas before it started traveling to New York, California, etc. and it blew the roof off the theatre. You may ask, "What is so great about this performance?" Well, first and foremost, that would have to be its star actor, Taylor Hanes. Hanes has the ability to make you laugh in the most uncomfortable of situations and then cry as he pours his soul out. You may have seen Hanes in Vegas productions of The Foreigner, You Can't Take It With You, Fuddy Meers, etc. and what is always a constant with this actor is that he never gives less than 110% in anything he does onstage. Whether he is playing a serious or comedic character, he takes his audience for a sensationally cathartic ride. Hanes has mastered this role and one can say that this is, as yet, the role of his life. His working with playwright Ross Howard gives a clear example of theatrical collaboration at its finest and that evidence is clear through performance. Hanes knows this character and he allows that to come through in his portrayal. So, if you are looking to see a great play performed by a great actor...then you must run to the theatre to see "The Irresistible Rise Of Arthur Huey."
