I love cellos. Shouldn’t we all love cellos? If you like cellos, you should check out Merch’s show, “Experimental-Pop Cello Rock.” With a sound akin to Defiance, Ohio and Rasputina, everything about Merch’s show was a delightful balance of gritty and laid back. They would sort of casually plan their set as they went along, then dive into full-force, loud guitar, drum, and cello mode. It was a large sound for a small space, and at times I couldn’t here the vocals or the cello as much as I would have liked, but I didn’t let it bother me. They were fun to listen to, and there was much polite-foot-dancing-via-air-toe-tapping among the audience members.
