MENTAL IMAGES (THE ART OF PHILOSOPHY)
My art is at times a practical application of not just my understanding
of aesthetic 'creaminess' but also of some of my philosophical beliefs.
Or rather, my art coexists nicely with a lot of my beliefs. At other
times I just like to go out and get really fuckin’ messy.

The Art of Conflict
This exhibit of works by Tim Channell will include a diversity of
individual studies ranging from multi-media artistic commentary on U.S.
nationalism, tribal masks commentaries on contemporary life to handmade
paper dialogues about Buddhism. Several of the larger art works, show
the artist’s close proximity to his subjects, and results in unusual
viewpoints and perspective.

Every tattoo has a story to tell that goes far beyond the ink and skin.
My photographic portraits capture a variety of people and the tattoos
they have. Using dramatic lighting and perspectives, I seek to capture
the unique individuality of people who share the common thread of ink.
I'm a junior, studying art at California State University Northridge. I love exploring all fields of art, including photography, painting, and drawing. I am obsessed with color and texture. My recent work embodies many nature related pieces that have been simplified or abstracted, although much of my work deals with the human body.

My belief in art as a universal language guides my expressions of
prismatic poetry. Some figurative, others a range of subject matter, all
of which connect to me in an internal way. The range of media
continuously evolves with the inspiration of the moment. Currently
working in drawing, printmaking, photography, and mixed media.

This somewhat interactive exhibit
explores blogging as an Art Form. Bloggers from around the world now
participate in the HNT phenomenon. Through pictures and sometimes text
individuals from a global stage present a part of themselves through the
cyber universe. Some are racy, some are poignet, some are just plain
funny. It’s expression … but is it art? You decide as we bring the world
to the Rogue and vice versa.
