Rogue Performer 411

ROGUE – GENERAL PERFORMER INFORMATION

The Rogue Performance Festival is an open, non-juried, festival. The Rogue is committed to an artist’s right to produce work without the judgment of a jury process and without fear of censure. The only constraints on material or content are the consideration of the health and safety of all those involved, including staff, artists, volunteers and audience members. As an applicant you are given the choice of different Festival categories within which to participate, each with a separate application process.

ELIGIBILITY

Any individual or company is eligible to apply but only ONE application can be submitted per individual/company. All applications will be accepted on a first received first accepted process, and must be received before deadline of October 15th. If a company is not accepted, they may apply as a BYOV performer prior to the December 1st deadline.

All applications must have a company name, primary and secondary contact. If an individual/company has been found submitting more than one application, ALL applications submitted by that individual/company will be removed from the application process. The primary and secondary contacts of a company cannot be the contacts for a second company applying to The Rogue Performance Festival.

Companies in the Festival may not sell or transfer their spot to another company. If we find that a company has sold or transferred their place to a second company, both companies will be removed from The Rogue Performance Festival and will forfeit their application fees.

ROGUE SCRIPT

The Rogue Festival issues show passes to Festival Volunteers (called Ducats) and media. They have no cash value to the performer.

The Rogue will also sell Rogue Weekend passes.  Each pass allows a holder to see as many shows as possible during a weekend, and printing is limited to 150.   Performers will be paid 70% ($3.50/café, $7.00/mainstage) for these Weekend Passes.  All Rogue stages, including BYOVenues will accept Rogue script.

ROGUE MAINSTAGE

Successful Mainstage Venue applicants will be scheduled at a Rogue Mainstage venue in the heart of Fresno’s Tower District. Applicants are assigned to a Mainstage Venue and are scheduled for an allotted number of 60 minute performance slots. A Mainstage venue can seat about 100 audience members. A Mainstage venue can accommodate performances such as one-act plays, minor musicals, dance/movement, musical acts, cabaret, magic shows, etc.

 TECHNICAL PRODUCTION

Venues are equipped with basic lighting and sound and each company will receive a 90 minute technical rehearsal / cue to cue. We will provide companies with more info on their venue so that they can be as prepared as possible for their technical rehearsal. The Rogue provides one technician in each Mainstage Venue to run lights and/or sound. All companies must supply one Production Stage Manager to call your show (an additional sound operator if necessary) and enough crew to set up and strike your show. All companies must provide Cue List, with a limit of 30 total (light & sounds).  All Rogue Performance Festival performances start on time. There is a 60 minute time limit for Mainstage Venue performers.
