ROGUE  2007 CAFE  VENUE APPLICATION GUIDELINES

TECHNICAL PRODUCTION

All Rogue Performance Festival performances start on time. There is a 45-minute time limit for Café performers. There are only 30 minutes between all performances, which includes 15 minutes to strike the show that just ended and 15 minutes to set up the next production with the audience being seated concurrently.

Café Venues are equipped with basic lighting, sound and a small performance area.

This includes:

  • One 6 channel PA.

  • 3-4 simple spotlight system focused on the performance area. (no faders.)

  • A performance that is usually no bigger than 10 feet (wide) by 5 feet (deep).

*Please note that Café Venues are considered “plug and play”. No technical rehearsals will be scheduled for these venues.  We will provide companies with more info on their venue so that they can be as prepared as possible.

The Rogue provides one technician in each Café Venue to oversee lights and/or sound. All companies must supply one Production Stage Manager to call your show, (an additional sound operator, if necessary), and enough crew to set up and strike your show.

Since there are some technical limitations in the venues, it is best to focus on the content of your play and try to keep the technical/production values as simple, imaginative and as compact as possible. THE VENUES PROVIDE NO STORAGE. Sets, props and costumes must be removed after each performance.

BOX OFFICE / TICKETS

The Rogue returns 100% of the box office ticket sales to the individual companies and provides all front-of-house staff (e.g, house managers, box office, ushers) for Rogue Café Venue participants. Each company sets its own ticket price (rounded off to the nearest dollar) up to a maximum of $4.

PLEASE NOTE: the Rogue reserves the right to sell and will be selling Rogue Ready Passes. Rogue Café Venue participants will receive 70% of the ticket price for any audience member using a Rogue Ready Pass to see your show.
