PARTICIPATION
The 2007 Rogue Performance Festival is an open, non-juried festival.
The Rogue is committed to an artist’s right to produce work without
the judgment of a jury process and without fear of censure. The only
constraints on material or content are the consideration of the
health and safety of all those involved, including staff, artists,
volunteers and audience members.
There are six different Festival categories within which to
participate, each with a separate application process: Mainstage,
Café, Film, Rogue Gallery, Bring Your Own Venue and Bring Your Own
Gallery
BYOG VENUE APPLICATION FEE: $200 (for TWO artists)
EACH ADDITIONAL ARTIST: $100
NON- REFUNDABLE PROCESSING FEE: $25
MAXIMUM TICKET PRICE: NO LIMIT
MAXIMUM SEATING : NO LIMIT
WHAT IS A BYOG?
A BYOG (Bring Your Own Gallery) is a gallery space that is a
participant in the 2007 Rogue Performance Festival, but is
independently managed by the participating artists or the venue
owner.
WHY DO I WANT MY OWN BYOG?
A BYOG lets more artists and more galleries participate in the 2007
Rogue Performance Festival. You can use your existing gallery space,
or any other gallery space you can secure, to participate in the
Rogue Festival without the rules and limitations of the Festival's
directly managed Rogue Galleries.
BYOG applicants secure their own space and determine the number of
artists presenting their work. There is no limit on gallery
commissions, and no commissions on art sales are owed to the Rogue.
If you operate a museum, gallery or large arts institution, the
Rogue's BYOG component allows you to bring your whole organization
and its programs into the Rogue Performance Festival.
WHAT MUST I SUPPLY TO HAVE A ROGUE BYOG?
BYOV participants are responsible for providing an audience-safe
gallery space.
WHAT WILL THE ROGUE DO FOR MY BYOV?
Publicity, baby! The Rogue will list your BYOG in the Rogue Map, the
Rogue website and all Festival promotional material sent to the
media. As far as promotions are concerned, the crack Rogue PR team
will treat your BYOG as a full participant in the Rogue, giving your
venue full access to the Rogue's 7000-plus audience.
If you want, the Rogue organization will also work with your venue
in an advisory capacity to make sure your Rogue experience is as
enjoyable and productive as possible.
WHAT'S WITH THE PRICING? WHY DO I GET CHARGED MORE FOR MORE
ARTISTS?
For the Rogue, the principal expense of each BYOG company is the
listing in the Rogue Map. The more artists who are showing in your
BYOG, the bigger the listing in the Rogue Map for your BYOV, and the
higher our printing costs.
CAN MY VENUE BE BOTH A BYOG AND A BYOV?
Sure! The Rogue doubles up performing and gallery venues, and so can
you! What's more, you don't have to pay a double application fee for
your venue to be both a BYOV and a BYOG.
Please note, however, that your total application fee will be based
on the total number of performing arts companies performing and
visual artists showing in your BYOV/BYOG.
ELIGIBILITY
Any individual, company or
institution is eligible to apply as a BYOG participant in the Rogue.
All applications must have a company name, primary and secondary
contact. If an individual/company has been found submitting more
than one application, ALL applications submitted by that
individual/company will be removed from the application process. The
primary and secondary contacts of a company cannot be the contacts
for a second company applying to The Rogue Performance Festival.
NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTS
Participants from outside the Fresno area, like locals, are
responsible for all aspects of production, as well as travel and
accommodation expenses. With adequate advance notice, we MAY be able
to find places for you to stay and volunteers for your tech crew.
Participants are considered national or international if they are
traveling from outside of a 100 mile radius of the Fresno area.
PUBLICITY
Each participating individual or company is expected to provide its
own show-specific publicity. The Rogue provides general Festival
publicity and your production will be listed in the official Rogue
Map program guide, in all Festival publicity to the media, and on
our website (www.roguefestival.com).
Companies will be asked to submit copies of your press kit (photos,
releases, bio, etc.) to the Rogue Publicity Coordinator NO LATER
than December 15th, 2006.
Publicity materials must be submitted via the online Performer
Publicity Information form on the Rogue website. Photos must be
submitted in JPEG or TIFF formats (at least 300 DPI).
SALE OF WORK/COMMISSIONS
As a BYOG participant, all sales of artwork are a private matter to
be arranged between the artist and the BYOG manager. There is no
limit on commissions charged by the BYOG manager and no commission
is owed to the Rogue Performance Festival.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
In order for your application to be processed:
* All questions on the online application form must be answered in
full.
* You must pay the application fee, including the non-refundable $25
processing fee.
APPLICATION CONFIRMATION
All applicants will be notified whether their applications were
successful by December 8th, 2006.
WITHDRAWALS AND APPLICATION REFUNDS

made in writing by the BYOG's primary contact.

your notification by December 1st, 2006, for you to receive a 100%
refund of your application fee, minus the non-refundable $25
application processing fee.

of 75% of your application fee, not including the non-refundable $25
